We are actually looking into a printed version now.

FYI, the second half of 2012 didn't happen for Epidemic due to a family emergency. Things are returning to normal soon though. Likely in about a week we should be operating again.

As for your tablet, do you know what version of PDF it supports? Some readers may not be able to handle the transparencies and stuff in the newer PDF files. I have a flattened version I can post for you if you want to try it. Ping me and let me know.

Fenryx wrote:

Is it in print? I'm running out of room on computer for pdfs

Ha, we have up on print because people were telling us they dind't have room on thier shelves for more books.

Currrently it's not, because I was having trouble finding a POD printer that does a landscape format 11x8.5 book. (and I even actually happen to work for one of the biggest POD printers around). That means In order to print I'd have to somehow trim the book down to 10x8 and I don't have time to redo the layout. I've considered shrinking it, but that might look bad. Though you can't tell, Todd and I are very busy working on stuff now, and so this kind of ended up a dead end.

One option would be to rotate the book and have the spine on the top. Would you buy that, or would that just look crappy?

I just ordered Seven in B&W, sorry, I can't justify paying $100+ for a book with the Tome of Monsters from Frog God/Necromancer being the exception that proves this rule. But even this is going to have to wait until I can bring myself to pay that much for one book even if I know it's gonna be awesome and ultimately worth the insane price tag.

They produce 1-5 hit die offspring on a daily basis. Wouldn't a 1 hit die creature make more sense?

And mutant how? Funny, but all the ones you mention are new: Exete, Gelatinous Slaver, Pacinka, Hosshin, Lukax, Jokhu, Wisp All these were done by Dave for this book. Olli did the slaver art. Wish I could afford to have him do more. He does great work at a very reasonable price. You seem to have spotted the few pieces of art we had to rush out as the deadline approached. Glad you like the rest of it though.

I'm not surprised the Athrigyle had the errata, the first one in the list always gets checked before the editor really gets his mojo working.

I finally bought it and it is excellent. Which 7 are new? And who did the art for the gelatenous slaver?

My only complaints- the two blurry undead make my eyes ache and the bayowulf's art isn't very acurate to the description (their hindlegs are flippers).

Personal favorites- exete (I love pets that show diversity) and pacynka (an amazing critter, truely inspired). And I don't think there is a stinker in the whole book. Some I won't use but nothing I think below on the cutting room floor.

Only errata I caught- athrigyle is missing the eyes ability for the third stat block.

David, if you read this, 4 thumbs up!

I was initially against having a bestiary. (Whom ever invented that word really should've had an "a" in there, and in all other associated words, it just would've been better, stupid english language. /end rant) I've repeatedly stated that I do not like the crunch of Oathbound. But honestly, after the previews, I'm excited about it. The fact that it isn't meant for players and thus isn't as likely to unbalance a game helps, and the monsters having several different versions at different CRs is very nice.

And Oathbound Bestiary works for me. Just please, whatever you do, don't throw the word Ultimate into the title. I'm begging here.
edited by ShadowcatX on 9/12/2011

Sorry for the delay, but we had our heads down and didn't have much news to report. I can say now that all the writing and most of the editing is done on our upcoming monster manual, and it's looking to be freaking awesome. We started with 60+ monsters and Dave decided to do some work to scale them... but then he enede up taking it a step further, and did three independent takes on each monster, each at different power levels. The result is epic--over 180 monsters for the price of just 60ish! And our new rules lawyer Sigfried kicked ass and turned over what may just be the most technically sound document we have ever produced.

So you may be wondering a few things:
1. When can I get this? --Good question. Probably August or September. It all depends on how fast the artists turn stuff in. We'll give a release date soon.
2. How much will it be? -- $10 for a pdf
3. Will there be a print version? --It's not planned, but if enough people want to shell out the crazy cost for a color book, let me know and I'll reconsider. I don't think this book will look good in black and white, but let me know if you think you'd buy it anyway.
4. Is there new content? --We took the 50+ monsters from all the oathbound products and completely reworked them and then updated them for pathfinder. Dave also added about 7 completely new monsters in addition to the over 100 alternate versions he invented.
5. What will it be called? --For now, it's called the "Oathbound Bestiary", but I'm open to suggestions. I'd toyed with "Oathbound Enemies" for a while, but Todd thought that sounded more like an NPC book than a monster manual.
6. Will it kick ass? --Oh yes, it will.
