I wish i could just answer this with a date,
Greg is hard at work finishing up the writing and rules conversion for Oathbound 7 i have only seen him like twice in the last mouth, this is not just a pathfinder transfer but an amazing fulling realized and comprehensive guild including up dated information from all the past oathbound books and products. it is already topping 300 pages and will most likely be around 500 when it is complete, (there is just so much we want to cover and offer) i am painting my figures to the bone to fill the book with tons of new art and even with all this work and added content we are still going to keep the price at ten dollars. we still have a goal to have it to you ASP and a personal goal to have it out by the end of this mouth so bear with us and wish us luck.

I appreciate the reply. Speaking as a customer I'd rather you all take your time and do it right, than rush through 200 pages just trying to get it out this month. Also, with it being 500 pages, I wouldn't mind paying a little more for the pdf, 15 certainly isn't unreasonable.
My only real request, don't have the crazy backgrounds on each page like Paizo does, I love their products but Goddess bless the pages take a long time to load. (I know its way too late to put in requests but thought I'd throw that out there.)

I definitely owe an apology for this one. It definitely won't be out this month (September), but I haven't changed the website yet, since I don't really know what the date will be yet. Currently I'm deep into this project and working like mad. There's a whole bunch of excuses I could give for why it's late (getting married in June was one, Darren catching the swine flu and having to be hospitalized left a bunch of slack on Eclipse that I had to pick up was another), but the main reason was that I simply misjudged the quality of the material we had to compile into this. My initial thought for this was that we could basically copy and paste half of the first book into the Oathbound Player's Guide, add some new history and call it done, but when it came down to it, the material just wasn't up to the level of what I wanted it to be for this. The goal is to have a reboot of the series, not a rehash. Also my writing and Tom's writing don't really flow together very well, so a lot of the stuff ended up being rewritten. Also, the amount of the material we are presenting here is tremendous, and the page count keeps climbing higher. Since we are a small company, we have to bank on quality over quantity, so I'm having to go slowly though everything and make sure it's right. We are going to start putting up some previews soon so you can see where we are going with this stuff.
As for the backgrounds, we are intending to include two versions in the download package. One with all the art elements in place, and one with no backgrounds in case people want to print stuff. The second one should take care of your loading issues.

Oops, forgot one bit. I'm having to be more careful than I thought I'd need to be as we do the Pathfinder conversions. Oathbound came out 7 years ago and it seems to have worked its way into the consciousness. I'm noticing things from Oathbound that have been incorporated already into the core Pathfinder rules. For example, the Hone appears to have been used as a model for the new Fighter core class (a high compliment indeed). If we just convert things without changing them we run the risk of simply duplicating existing stuff, which wouldn't do anyone much good.
I'm going to start providing better updates here so people know better when things are going to happen.

Ok, I've updated the release dates for Oathbound for the final time.
Eclipse is set for October 4th. This is a real date. I talked to the distributor, and they are shipping to stores on 9/27 for a 10/4 release. We will ship our pre-orders on 9/27 too.
Oathbound Seven is set for November sometime. Probably somewhere in the middle. I swear on my mother's left nut I will do everything in my power to get this thing out. And not just for you guys, it'd be nice to get a full night's sleep one of these years.
Closely after that, we will release the first Eclipse adventure (december sometime), and then we will start work on our monster manual.

Is there plans for an eclipse pdf? I'm not fond of having to mix pdfs and real books.

We will release one probably in December. We just want to give a little space for the books to sell first.

When you mentioned "adventure for eclipse" is it going to be a 1 shot adventure or is it going to be along the lines of an adventure path? I've really become impressed by Paizo's adventure paths and think they're a good idea.

I imagine that it would be a one shot, similar to the adventures in the back of the other three core books to introduce the players to the domain.

Well, I don't think we have resources that Paizo does to run characters all the way from 1 to 20, but we will be releasing multiple adventures, and each will be set for a different level range. The "official" Oathbound story arc adventure will likely be for 7 to 10. The first one we are releasing is for 1-3 or so. Todd wants to do a high-level set, but I have a feeling I will be keeping him too busy to do more than one.
For all the levels in between, I'll be counting on the community to some degree. Once Oathbound seven is out, I'll be running a contest. Send us your eclipse adventure and if we like it we'll pay you 100 bucks or so and do it up as a free pdf on our site.

Nice. How about:
Greg, could you please update us on when OB 7 might be released?
See, being polite isn't difficult.

When a company delivers a good product, on time, it shows a respect for their customers. When a company is unable to deliver their product on time, updating those customers shows respect for their customers. Neither has happened in this situation. I should not have to come here and repeatedly grovel in an effort to get a release date.
However, I was not rude, not when I inquired months ago, nor when I inquired this time, if you take someone else being reminded of what they said as an insult, then that isn't my problem. I do, however, hope you do not work for nor represent epidemic books. If you do not, why don't you allow the person whom I asked to answer for himself, I'm certain he's a big boy and doesn't need you defending him. If you do, please, let me know now so I can take my business else where.

I don't work for Greg and I wasn't defending him either. You say you weren't being rude. I disagree and will leave it at that.

Good. And I will, with all due respect, ask you to keep your comments to yourself when they don't involve you. Thank you much.

Hi guys. I do agree that bluntness is probably in order here. Especially since I think Shadowcat already plunked down his ten bucks for a copy. Sorry about that.
Well, to answer your question, check out our home page. I have posted the final release date for Oathbound Seven, which is 1/1/11.
I am well aware we have failed to keep a number of promises on this book, but I am very confident we can meet this date. Todd started the typesetting this weekend, and the final editing is on place for the latter chapters. We have all the feedback from the playtesters, and we have already made the many excellent changes from player suggestions. As to why we are so late, well that's another matter. Mostly, the book ended up being a larger project that we ever envisioned in the first place. Secondly Gen Con didn't go quite as we'd planned, so we ended up not having the money to pay people to help out (with a few exceptions), so we've pretty much done the whole thing ourselves. Also, since we didn't seek out any investment capital to start this company, we have day jobs that unfortunately must come first. There's more, but I don't think anyone needs to read a long list of excuses.
Anyway, I sincerely apologise for the wait, and I fully envision we will meet our release date. Those of you who have already given us your money (you know who you are), we appreciate it, and I will be sending a little extra thank you in your packages. You are always welcome to contact me for a refund if you get cold feet. However, at 10$ for this sizable book, I think it's worth the wait.
I also promise we will be moving a bit faster once this book is out there. It's our number one priority, and a lot of stuff has been back-burnered until this is out.
If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer them.
