If you are a Bastion fan, you may be wondering what Oathbound Seven is exactly. Is it new stuff, old stuff, a setting, rules, what? I'll try to clear that up a bit.
Oathbound Seven is essentially the core Oathbound rules for Pathfinder. It rehashes general information about the planet of the Forge, but is not a setting in and of itself. It lays the cornerstone for all the setting books to be built upon, and brings the Bastion settings up to date. It's intended to be easily accessible (and essential) to both new and returning players. The idea is to move the game material out of the first few books so they could still be used for their content.
Here's a quick rundown of the contents:
- Oathbound Core Races (Sort of a "Best of" the previous OB races updated for Pathfinder)
- Oathbound Core Classes (ditto for the classes)
- Spells, magic, and all the core changes to the rules for Oathbound.
- Pathfinder conversion and compilation of the best of the gifts and evolutions (formerly "prestige races")
- Setting info about the Forge, the Oath, and the Seven.
- New history bringing the setting up to date (some familiar faces may have changed dramatically).
- Equipment
- Major religions of the Forge
- Monsters! (again, a best of the original stuff converted and updated for Pathfinder)

I had heard this is going to be available on Paizo's site for download. Is this still true? I couldn't even get it to come up last time I looked? Will it be offered dual PDF and Hardcover release? My group is VERY excited to have this coming back out.

yes it will be released in pdf and available in late august keep checking under fan content because later this week i will be putting up a piece of teaser art

Awesome. I am a little on the sketchy side of things but if I can get a clean image or two together, maybe I will have to risk my pride and post something to the fan art eventually.

Hey folks. I'm one of Amathaon's players. I've deliberately limited my knowledge of the Oathbound system to my characters' perspectives so as to be a more 'honest' player, but what I've learned about so far has been ... enchanting. I've DMed a bit and have created a lot of custom content for my own games, so I'll be sure to chime in now and then with suggestions and praise. Thanks guys!

So if I understand correctly, the Evolutions (aka Prestige Races) in Seven will be updates of the older races from all the previous books, kind of a "Best of" list... any possibility of a teaser of which ones made the cut?

Well, Tom did a good job of compiling all the existing powers into one list, and that's what I'm using as the base. My intention is to include all of them, though some may get cut due to time/space restrictions in the final. The ones we cut (unless its because they are just too broke) will be put up on our download page for free once the book is released.

This is great to hear, I have people with at least one character that uses every book out there and many (though not all) have been used.

In short it is a money issue, we are just getting off the ground here and did not want to stretch are selves to thin, oathbound 7 covers a great deal of ground already tread upon, though greg is writing it from the ground up and there is a ton of great content and changes coming your way. We felt that Eclipse being a land that has never gotten the full work up it deserved the full print rout. hopefully we will be able to bring 7 there in time as well, though the temptation is to move ever forward
