Is there any plans for the moons and stars- their populations (if any) and locations of interest?

Ah... well the rust moon is totally dead. It's made of slade. Which is that magic killing metal. Killing the ward of the rust moon (by pulling in slade) was the first step in being able to undo the Oath.
The stars aren't stars, they are gates to other worlds. So, nothing to detail there.
The water moon... I've often thought about whether a totally water based world would work as a game supplement. We've also debated if there might be an eighth flock member watching this moon. So far we haven't made up our minds. There is definitely aquatic life on the moon. We haven't given it much thought beyond that.

And speaking of the stars, how large are Crux and Storm?

I think according to the original book Crux is the same size as Earth's sun. Storm is considerably smaller, but closer to the planet, so it appears about the same size. I figure it's basically a red dwarf. So roughly about half the size of Crux.

As for whether a water-based campaign would work, check out Cerulean Seas by Alluria Publishing. It work's very well imo. I know I'd love to see a water-based oathbound book.

It's reveled in Eclipse that the moon and suns are part of the locking mechanism of the Oath.

There were 12 objects created as part of the great oath. Each had its own purpose. They are:
- The cell
- The seven books of binding (from which the citadels have grown).
- Four orbital wards protecting the plane of the Forge itself. These are currently the two suns and the two moons.
The functions of the wards were as follows:
- Crux: Prevent gods from entering the plane of the Forge
- Storm: Prevent gods from leaving the plane of the Forge
- Zadkiel: Prevent mortals from entering the plane of the Forge
- Anahita: Prevent mortals from leaving the plane of the Forge
The ward that is buried under the rust moon lost its potency when a great amount of slade metal was pulled in around it. Slade is the material that cancels magic. This is what allowed the seven to begin populating the Forge with heroes.

Wow, now that is interesting.
How do the star gates figure into the great oath? Are they holes formed from the weaking of Zadkiel's ward?

Why are there rules for replacing the Flock within the Oath if mortals were never meant to be able to get on the forge?

Maybe it was set up for other divine beings? Other than gods, there doesn't seem to be any restrictions on angels, demons and such from coming and going. edited by Derek Holland on 1/6/2011

I think this is hopefully clearer in oathbound seven. The oath sort of assumes that it will fall apart over time, so there is essentially error handling built into the system. Things are contingent on things that never should happen, since given my experience at leas, things that never should happen often do.
But yes, there is some grey area between gods and mortals. That's up for interpretation by the DM. One thing we hinted at in eclipse is that the undead have never been barred from coming and going from the Forge. The restriction only applies to living creatures.
