I'm getting more than a few idea in reading the copy of Eclipse that arrived yesterday. But as much as I am loving what I am reading and the fact that next paycheck I need to get a copy of Seven in print for myself, I got this weird idea for customizing it for myself. I love Horror, Lovecraft flavor especially, and I have thought of a few ideas on how turn the setting into a strange mishmash of Planescape and Ravenloft. Paizo's Carrion Crown AP taught me quite a bit, especially on where I don't want to go.
The idea I have is that we the players know the entity trapped in this plane of Kah-Gey (ka-GAY) and t it's the great old one himself: Cthulhu. The feathered fowl are his jailers but also his servants as well since it is only through their ritual suicide can he be freed. Killing one only frees him or her from their duty whereupon their murderer takes their place. They are still bound by their oaths and nothing else changes save this secret that only themselves know.
